It’s been a year now since I took the big step to start strength building classes at Journey to be. The studio is Professional, friendly, fun and inclusive. And most importantly - it’s motivating me to make my physical health a bigger priority.
Thank you to Melissa and Jen for keeping me focused every week. I can see and feel a big change in my body in only one year and I can’t wait to be even stronger next year.

The studio is beautifully run with a welcoming atmosphere and very soothing music especially in Yoga. Melissa and Jen run classes that give us enough options suited to our specific physical needs with encouraging help. Most of us have experienced the benefits from your classes which is why we keep coming back.
The number of participants speak for itself... the studio has really come a long way and exceeded beautifully. Ya...no complaints from me. Keep up the good work.

Our yoga studio is a welcoming place. The instructors I have encountered are positive, encouraging professionals who stress only doing what your body will allow that day. Having this gem in Trent Hills is just another reason we have such a wonderful community.

You have a beautiful studio to work out in. Nice friendly atmosphere and a great workout. The instructors are very helpful and answer any questions you ask. If there is an exercise you are not able to do they will give you another option that will get the same result. All in all a great place to work out.

JTB is an excellent yoga studio, the environment is fun and positive, instructors are passionate about helping everyone achieve their goals!
They are patient and always helping with adjustments that are needed and reminders to be sure you’re using proper form.
Wonderful experience always! So good!!

I am loving the mobility class with Jen. She explains and demonstrates all of our movements, while making sure we know that we should only work at our own pace and abilities. I have been attending for two months, and can feel a huge improvement in my flexibility and energy levels.

February 2020 I was looking for an extra yoga class weekly and decided I would approach Journey to Be (JTB). Melissa said that the class time I wanted was full but that one of the participants was going to be away for a couple weeks so I jumped at it. Best move ever!!!
Shortly after that covid restrictions hit. I was desperate to keep my fitness journey moving forward and Melissa was determined to accommodate her clients. As time when on we went from limited in class masked and distanced, to virtual zoom classes, to recorded classes then finally returning to in class and all thorough that Melissa supported her clients weekly.
I started out just wanting yoga but then realized that the Strength & Stretch would be very beneficial to me at my age so I added it. I enjoyed those classes so much that I added Dance Party (Zumba). There is no way to leave Dance Party without a huge smile so that was a given. When Melissa offered TRX yoga and Trapeze yoga I immediately wanted to try them. Ultimately the timing for trapeze fit in may schedule so now I "hang out" weekly too. The newest class I added is Circuit training because it builds my strength and endurance which I need with 2 grandkids under 3.
Melissa has been an inspiration to me all through this journey and I am sure she will be by my side for years to come as JTB has become a part of my every day life. She flexes her programs to fit all levels of ability and she gently guides us into the proper execution of the moves to maximize the benefits and reduce any chance of us getting injured. She is also supportive of our mental well-being and will make suggestions or observations when needed.
What I really love is that she explains the movements we are doing - how to do it properly - how to execute the version that fits your current ability - how to work towards the next level if you want it - what is the reason for doing these movements - how you can see the NSV (non-scale victory) results of your hard work. She also lets you know that each day is different and some movements that work for your body today, might not work next week and …. That is OK! “JUST FOR THE HEALTH OF IT” is the mission statement on the back of her shirts and it is so true. Not matter what you do each day, big or small, it is a step towards becoming the healthiest you possible.
Thanks to Melissa and Jen for all their support for my journey to date and here’s to the next decade or more!!

I started working out at Journey to Be last October. I started with Dance Party (formally known as Zumba) as I knew the instructor. I progressed to gentle yoga and strength and stretch.
As a 58 year old woman, I want to be able to walk when I retire.
The classes I have been doing are circuit training, yoga, dance party and strength and stretch. The small class sizes make it possible to individualize instruction when needed.
It took my body a while to become stronger but this spring, I had more energy and was not as sore after doing yard work. I know that the classes have been the reason. I am more flexible, stronger and healthier than when I started.
The instructors are amazing and I look forward to the classes. Everyone at the class works at their own pace and listens to their body. There is no shaming or competition among the participants. We support each other.
This is a perfect place for all age groups.
