Melissa has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years. In that time she has accumulated many different certifications and experiences. Always learning is her philosophy. Opening and operating Journey To Be is her dream! As a Fitness Instructor Specialist, Personal Trainer Specialist and Certified Yoga Instructor Melissa has many ways to help you reach your goals. Helping people find the right fit for them when it comes to classes is a passion of Melissa's. There truly is a class or exercise to suit every body. Sometimes it just takes a little trial and error to figure it out. Let's connect and find your perfect match!
Jen (she/her) has been in the fitness industry since 2021, but has been working with bodies for 23 years as a Registered Massage Therapist. Self proclaimed "anatomy nerd" Jen is always trying to learn about all things to do with the human body. She does her best to apply that knowledge to her role as a Fitness Instructor Specialist. Along with the studio, Jen's focus is inclusivity in fitness. She strives to make folks with bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities feel comfortable in her classes. Her goal is to get you to sweat, be safe and have fun!!
Alex is relatively new to the fitness industry, starting her journey professionally in 2022. Fitness and exercise have always been apart of her life. 13 years of competitive dance followed by 10 years of varsity rugby, summers spent behind a boat and winters spent snowboarding, Alex has always had a love of being active! Alex has worked full time as a Developmental Service Worker for the last 10 years. Supporting those to reach their ultimate potential and goals is Alex’s greatest passion. Alex’s experience working with those with any and all abilities makes her an ally for everyone. Alex looks forward to helping you reach your fitness goals, while having lots of fun!

Kelly has been a volunteer in in the fitness industry for 25 years, enjoying many different classes. Her class styles have ranged from Tae Bo, step aerobics , body pump, spin and most recently TRX yoga flow. Kelly loves to learn about fitness and health, most recently adding canfitpro FIS (fitness instructor specialist), And TRX yoga flow certification to her repertoire. Kelly enjoys encouraging people along their fitness journey. She has worked in the community for over 36 years and enjoys meeting new people. Kelly enjoys many types of activities including hiking, swimming, standup paddle boarding and bike riding. She hopes to continue learning and growing in her fitness journey, and helping you do the same!
Kelli has been a dedicated yogi since her trying her first class in 2007. She realized the completion of a life dream when she completed her foundational 200-hour teacher training in 2022 with the fabulous organization Frog Lotus Yoga. Kelli is also currently enrolled in a 300-hour teacher training with Prana Shanti Yoga Center in Ottawa, to complete her 500-hour teacher training. The philosophy and practices of yoga truly guide Kelli in all aspects of her life, and she loves to share this passion with her students -- she believes yoga is truly a non-denominational guide to "good living"! Outside of her yoga passion, Kelli spends most of her time as a registered nurse of 21 years, currently finding much reward in community nursing within the home setting, and she is also busy pursuing training in advanced foot care nursing. She is very much excited to be a part of Journey To Be, and welcomes all students from varied backgrounds and with different levels of ability to her classes!
Raven found her passion for group fitness in 2023 and became a certified Fitness Instructor Specialist in 2024. She is currently enrolled in a 200-hours yoga teacher training with Journey To Be. Raven is an experienced long distance runner. She loves being at the gym and practicing yoga at home. In her free time she studies and practices guitar, and can often be found with a paintbrush in her hand. Raven finds harmony and fulfillment in acknowledging the interconnection between herself and the universe. She is very excited to be a part of the Journey To Be experience.
Baily found her love of yoga in 2020 on a journey to self-care and healing. She has been dancing from a young age and teaching dance since 2015, so movement has been a large part of her life for years. She completed her 200-hour training in 2020 and has been teaching ever since!
Baily focuses largely on ensuring students feel safe and comfortable during their practice, offering different options for all abilities to explore.
Outside of teaching baily spends her time on her rescued animals and volunteering at rescues and sanctuaries in the area such as, Serenity Lane Animal Sanctuary where she sits on the board of directors.
She is looking forward to being a part of the Journey To Be team as well as be a part of your yoga and wellness journey.
